Birrational geometry of two classical parameter spaces

Abstract:
We will discuss the birational geometry, as dictated by the Minimal Model Program, of two parameter spaces: the space of complete quadrics and the Hilbert scheme of elliptic curves in P3. We will see that the birational geometry of these spaces is governed by classical constructions such as the Fano scheme and the quadric-line complex and how the MMP and the theory of Bridgeland stability provide new insights about these classical spaces.
